InTandem combines the best of virtual learning with in-person support and community. Unlike traditional virtual schools where parents often bear the teaching burden, our certified teachers provide active instruction and support. We also offer in-person activities, extracurriculars, and a genuine school community.
While InTandem is available to any family in Michigan, living within reasonable distance of Summit Academy allows for easier participation in our in-person activities and community events. However, we have many fully-remote families who connect through virtual events and occasional in-person gatherings.
InTandem is designed to shift the instructional burden away from parents, but we still value parent partnership. The exact level of involvement can be customized to your preference, but most parents find they serve more as learning coaches and supporters rather than primary instructors.
Yes! InTandem students have full access to Summit Academy's sports programs, clubs, performing arts, and special events. This is one of the key benefits of our program compared to traditional virtual schools.
